Vehicle Repair

Step 1: Initial Repair Estimate

The process starts with one of our estimators doing an inspection of your vehicle’s damage making sure that all parts affected by the collision are accounted for. The estimator will take a series of pictures that will be sent to your insurance company to document and confirm our estimate. Although most affected parts can be seen during this inspection, there are times when the vehicle is in the tear-down phase when damaged parts are found that were hidden from plain sight. Those instances are immediately addressed with the insurance company to stay on track to meet our estimated completion date.

Step 2: Insurance Approval

Once we complete our estimate, we submit it to your insurance company to get their approval. This is when your insurance company will determine whether to move forward with the repair or not. We sometimes work with your insurance company on cost so they agree to move forward on the repair. Once your insurance company reviews the estimate, we then need to get the customer’s approval to start the repairs.

Step 3: Vehicle Disassembly

We now take apart the entire area of where the vehicle damage happened (tear-down). This is when we can find hidden damage and inner structure concerns that need to be added to the estimate. That requires us to get back with the insurance company with a supplemental claim. We make sure this happens as quickly as possible so not to delay your estimated completion date.

Step 4: Parts Are Ordered

While the vehicle disassembly is being done, a parts report is being created. Once we know exactly what we need to repair your vehicle, we immediately order the parts. By being part of a large dealership group, we have an advantage of being able to get parts on a timely basis which can save us some time on your repair.

Step 5: Auto Structure Repair

We use a sophisticated measuring system is used to correct all structural damage to your vehicle. This consists of the arrangement of your vehicle’s basic structural components in relation to each other and the arrangement of the various body panels and suspension components.

Step 6: Auto Body Repair

The Body Repair Department replaces exterior panels, and all metal finishing that may be required. This is when the vehicle starts coming back to life as sheet metal is installed and aligned. From here the vehicle goes to the paint preparations department.

Step 7: Auto Painting

Paint preparations is a critical step in the refinishing process of every vehicle. All replaced and repaired panels are prepared for paint, then primed and sealed in one of our down draft heated paint booths to assure good adhesion when the final top color and clear coats of paint are applied.

Step 8: Auto Reassembly

Final moldings and detail pieces are put back on the vehicle in the reassembly area. All the vehicle’s systems are checked during this process. The vehicle is almost complete and ready for delivery when it is in this stage.

Step 9: Auto Detailing

During the repair process the vehicle accumulates dust from the repairs. It will be cleaned. It will also be road tested to ensure that everything is working properly. A final inspection will assure that the vehicle is restored to its pre-accident condition.

Step 10: Completed

Delivery is the last step in the repair process. When you arrive to pick up the vehicle, the bill is explained and final paper work is completed. You can drive away in your vehicle that has been restored to its pre-accident condition!
